There were a huge variety of events celebrating the arts in Stevenage surrounding and during the festival that weren't part of the main programme.

Stevenage Community Art Exhibition
Art with a Heart

Stevenage is home to a wealth of artistic talent. This exhibition brings together stunning Photography from the Stevenage Photographic Society and the Underwater Photography Society, art from the Stevenage Art Society, Timebridge Group and James Starkey, a young local artist plus beautiful arrangements from the Stevenage Floral Art Society. All in all a visual treat well worth a visit when you are in the Town Centre.

Please note that you should be able to visit the exhibition during the opening hours of Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre. However for operational reasons access may sometimes be restricted and we recommend calling the centre on 01438 363200 to check if making a special journey.

The charity for this concert is Antenatal Results and Choices (ARC).
Both choirs have sung together many times over the last 57 years in support of good causes such as ARC, since the Ladies choir was formed from a few of the wives from the Male Voice Choir members, to the choir of more than 70 ladies that they are today.
Please come along, enjoy the wide styles of choral music the choirs present and support the charity, as well as taking part in the raffle and enjoying the interval refreshments.

Come along and meet Helen Craig who is best known for illustrating the Angelina Ballerina series of children's books. Helen's grandfather was Gordon Craig who was born in Stevenage and our Theatre is named in his honour.

Everything is in disguise and the story goes into the skies with this comical retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The story is retold through a massive 6ft tall book complete with pop-ups and props coming out of the book!

Talyllyn Railway (A railway with a heart of gold)

Talyllyn was one of the earliest Railway preservation societies and has links with the Thomas the Tank Engine author. David Mitchell who is associated with the preservation society will be talking about the society and, of course, the narrow gauge engines and the railway's history.

The idea was simple: drive south from England until it was impossible to drive any further, then turn around and drive home.

Gavin Conybeare will describe some of the many highlights and challenges of his recent solo drive around the African continent, including a look at some of the lesser known wildlife that he encountered there.

40,000 miles, 39 countries and 11 months - best not drink the water.
